Qube Ports & Bulk operate in 28 different multi-purpose ports around Australia. This has allowed Qube Ports & Bulk to lead Australia and, in many cases the world, in providing purpose-designed solutions for customers handling containerised, bulk and general cargo.

Qube Ports & Bulk is the principal bulk and general cargo stevedoring service provider in Australia, reflecting its geographic scope of operations and proven operating expertise in stevedoring all bulk and general commodities.

The high volume of general cargo handled by Qube Ports & Bulk throughout Australia reflects that Qube Ports & Bulk has a clear understanding of the technical requirements to handle such valued cargo.

Qube Ports & Bulk non-containerised cargo handling expertise is reflected in on-going investment in equipment and procedures, for example:

• Managing and operating one of Australia’s largest common user import bulk material handling terminals, at Kooragang No.2 berth in Newcastle;
• Operating as the key bulk cargo stevedore in one of Australia’s fastest growing bulk cargo ports, in Port Hedland;
• Storing, handling and loading of mineral sands in Brisbane; and
• Stevedoring and managing the movement of all cargoes at Bunbury (including bulk volumes) through a partnership with the Bunbury Port Authority.

Qube Ports & Bulk' ability to offer services to our clients nationally is augmented by our sister company Northern Stevedoring Services (“NSS”). Qube Ports & Bulk holds a 50% shareholding in NSS with Xstrata Copper. NSS operate in the North Queensland ports of Townsville, Gladstone, Mackay, Cairns and Weipa.

Qube Ports & Bulk acquired Continental Freight Services and the South Wharf Marine Supply Base in May 2010. South Wharf has operated for over 16 years offering services to the offshore oil, gas and energy sectors and the facility can cater for up to 5 offshore vessels/ rig tenders alongside at one time with all working, bunkering or arranging other port related services at the time. The facility has been the premier facility for the offshore industry in the region offering:

• 425 metres of berth space
• In excess of 40,000m2 of sealed hardstand including over 10,000 of warehouse
• Full range of onsite equipment from 2 to 32 tonne forklifts and 15 to 200 tonne cranes
• Access to all specialist trades
• AQIS and Customs approved
• 24/ 7 operations
• On site labour for a variety of tasks
• Customs clearance, freight forwarding and trucking services
