POAGS Environmental Management Policy outlines the various objectives and methods to enable POAGS to identify and address its legal environmental obligations, its corporate responsibilities, and to assist in creating and meeting targets.
We will demonstrate our commitment to a sustainable environment through continual improvement and ensure we:

- Develop business partnerships that promote and foster an attitude of sustainable development.

Community
As an Australian company employing over 1,300 people within Australia, POAGS has a commitment to local employment and sources services and products from the local market when possible and commercially appropriate.
POAGS currently operates in 24 ports in Australia with the vast majority in regional centres. To sustain these regional operations it is vital that the local industry and community is involved to provide labour and support services which are the cornerstone of our business operations. POAGS seeks to employ local staff as a preference and endeavours were possible to source its supplies and services from the local community ensuring ongoing local support.
In Western Australia POAGS has engaged in a relationship with the Clontarf Foundation to support the advancement of indigenous communities.
In conjunction with Oakajee Port & Rail POAGS is a sponsor of the Good Heart Mid-West Aboriginal Art Exhibition. The Exhibition is an opportunity to showcase mid-west Indigenous art to the broader public as an emerging self-sufficient enterprise, one that can provide direct support for Indigenous artists and their communities.
